Gresham’s United Earth group is organizing The Bridge of the Gods Peace Jam for July 17th and 18th, 2015. Enjoy a peaceful music filled weekend in Cascade Locks by joining the Peace Jam to promote ecotourism in the Columbia River Gorge and to raise funds for a peace-oriented school curriculum. Learn about the Bike Peace Music Festival also taking place in Cascade Locks this weekend, below.

The inaugural event, dubbed a Bike Peace Music Festival, takes place on Thunder Island July 17 and 18. Two hundred campsites are reserved on the island near Cascade Locks for bicycling tourists who ride to the festival with their own camping gear.

The event is a fundraiser for The Nobel Peace Curriculum. United Earth is working with the Reynolds School District and charter schools to develop the curriculum.

Marcus Nobel, executive director of United Earth, says he’s working with local governments, business groups and the Rotary Club to promote ecotourism in the Gorge.
