Meet The West Columbia Gorge Chamber Of Commerce Committees

Our committees work in harmony to achieve our mission statement – to connect commerce and communities to create economic vitality. Below is a list of our various committees and their purposes.

WCGCC Membership Committee

This committee meets once a month to work with Marcia, the Membership Services Representative, and Cindy Passannante from the Board of Directors. This committee’s goals include building and enhancing the membership of the West Columbia Gorge Chamber as well as ensuring that both renewing and new members are aware of the benefits of membership and taking advantage of these benefits.

WCGCC Finance & Budget Committee

Our Finance & Budget Committee meets once a Quarter to review the Budget and Actual with Board Treasurer Trevin Webb. We consider staying within budget to be very important. The Last Quarter of a year requires more meetings to plan for the next year’s budget based on Actuals from the previous year.

WCGCC Marketing and Events Committee

This committee works on Promotional opportunities for the WCGCC. The duties that fall under this committee include but are not limited to Ambassador’s who greet and meet members when we have in-person meetings, Ribbon Cuttings for new members as confirmed, special events such as The Spring and Fall Marketplace to showcase our members to the community, The Bite of East County, Holiday Tree Lighting & Whoville connection with The Grinch, and other Chamber/Community Activities.

WCGCC Public Affairs

This committee meets once or twice a month and is involved in updates from the Cities and State Government information that will be important to the members of WCGCC. This committee is responsible for putting on events such as the Candidates Forum and Host Special Speakers at Learn Over Lunch Events. They also oversee Policy for the Chamber and make sure that we are in compliance with our By-Laws etc.

WCGCC Board of Directors

A position on the Board of Directors requires One (1) year of membership in good standing and is an elected position at the Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors meets once a month and the Executive Board (President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer) has an additional meeting prior to the Board regular meeting to set agenda, etc. The Board of Directors will each select a “Committee” to work with as a Board Representative. The Position is a 3-year commitment, with positions such as President, President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer elected within the Board and for 1 to 2 years.

How To Get Updates On These Committees

We will post committee-related updates on our blog every 3rd Friday of the month, so be sure to stay tuned in to the WCGCC blog.
