DESCRIPTION:Jake Wegler is reaching out on behalf of the Urban Flood Safety & Water Quality District to offer the West Columbia Gorge Chamber of Commerce a briefing on the District’s plans to refer a bond next year for needed improvements to the flood control systems along the Columbia River.\n\nThe District was established by the Legislature in 2019 to modernize the flood management system in Multnomah County along the Columbia River. It intends to put a proposal before voters in 2024 to provide a sustainable revenue base for operations and capital construction to ensure we maintain levee certification by the Army Corps of Engineers. DESCRIPTION:The cities of Wood Village and Fairview have partnered with the East County Food Pantry at Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church (2420 NE Fairview Ave\, Fairview\, OR 97024) to offer Thanksgiving Food Boxes to Wood Village and Fairview community members\, plus those who already regularly receive food from the food pantry. \nDue to the limited number of turkeys and pies that the pantry is able to provide\, they ask that you please indicate your interest by signing up online. The turkeys\, pies\, and other fixin’s will be available to pick up at the church parking lot on Saturday\, November 18th from 2pm to 4pm. \nIf transportation is a challenge for you\, the food pantry asks that you arrange for a friend\, family member\, or neighbor to pick it up on your behalf.  Please indicate that person’s name in the comment section of the application.
