SUMMARY:After the Smoke Clears: Troutdale Forum
DESCRIPTION:On November 29 to learn how you can support the recovery of the Columbia River Gorge.\nDoors open at 6 p.m. |  Event starts promptly at 7 p.m.\nThe Columbia River Gorge is a beloved national treasure and icon of the Northwest. The Eagle Creek fire had a significant impact on our region—threatening Gorge communities\, disrupting businesses\, filling our skies with smoke\, and burning through cherished hiking trails. Many are still working through the accompanying anger\, outrage\, anxiety\, and stress from the fire.  \nNow that rains have come and largely put the fire out\, we can breathe deeply and look to the forest for what it can teach us about natural recovery systems. It’s also a time to look ahead at ways we can increase resilience for the land\, communities\, and trails that make the Gorge such a special place.  \nThe series will feature a combination of multimedia presentations on what happened in the fire and examinations of key challenges moving forward\, featuring insights from a collection of noted fire ecologists\, forestry researchers\, and leaders from local business\, conservation and recreation organizations.   \nLearn more about the impact of the fire on the Gorge and what you can do to help the forests naturally recover and protect cherished public lands into the future. \nFull series details: gorgefriends.org/FireForums
