Horsetail Falls

Horsetail Falls, as seen in the photo above, is just off the Historic Columbia River Highway. This waterfall is one of the easiest to get to, no hiking required. If hiking is desired this is one the easier hikes, a total of 2.9 miles with difficulty of easy to moderate. This may not be one to bring the kids or dogs to because of the lack of guard rails, but it does provide stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge. The hike is fairly easy, but there are quite a few switchbacks at the beginning of the trail, which is why I listed it as being easy/moderate.

The waterfalls are also incredible on this hike. From the parking lot you can see Horsetail Falls itself, which is rather stunning. The gusts of wind when we went hiking blew water from the falls all the way out onto the road and into the parking lot.
